A girl is shown standing on top of a building, where she expresses how much she loves Mikawa Kirameki's work. The book she is holding falls to the ground, and I assume (for no particular reason) that she's committed suicide.

Haruno works as an assistant, when she gets a reassignment as Mikawa Kirameki's editor. This delights her, since she's a huge fan. When she returns home, it is revealed that her sister is Natsuka - the same girl Kaname called two episodes ago. As they chat, Kaname calls and requests to have a talk with Natsuka.
In a field full of Kanaka-like staves, Chiaki 'restores' hers. She glimpses Fumika, and calls out, but is ignored. Fumika is on her way to deliver a Shigofumi to a familiar recipient - Mikawa Kirameki.

That's a lot of staves.
Natsuka prepares for some alone time with Kaname when an overslept Haruno bumps down the stairs. Haruno bumps into Kaname on her way out, causing Natsuka much embarrassment.
Before delivering the Shigofumi, Fumika visits herself in the hospital.

lol ohgeeiwonder
Haruno calls Natsuka and asks her to send the map to Mikawa Kirameki's residence. Kaname helps because Natsuka does not know how. After Natsuka tells Kaname that Haruno is now Mikawa's editor, he prints out a copy of the map. Meanwhile, Haruno reaches Mikawa's residence.

wtf
A brief interlude reveals that Haruno was chosen as Mikawa's editor because she's disposable.
Mikawa invites Haruno into his upside-down lightning bolt house, and they tour his collection of glass pens and multi-windowed room. Sitting down to talk, Haruno brings out a portfolio, but when Mikawa sees her wrist he grabs it in a frenzy and begins writing on it.

Sakujo, Sakujo, SAKUJOOOOOO!
Natsuka explains to Kaname that she became Fumika's friend probably because she did not know who Mikawa Kirameki was, and treated Fumika like just another person.
Though sunny, it begins to rain; and the eccentric Mikawa runs outside to dance, dragging Haruno along with him.

You're…batshit insane.
Since they both became wet, Haruno changes into a dress provided by Mikawa when Fumika shows up. Mikawa happily accepts the Shigofumi, but after reading it he stalks off. A curious Haruno reads the Shigofumi as well, thinking it is a fan letter. The letter is from the girl at the beginning of the episode, and (as I suspected) she commits suicide, saying that Mikawa's work caused her to be unafraid of death.

Suicide is the recurring theme.
Mikawa comes back with a lighter, and wants to burn the letter. When asked why, he responds that it is 'ugly'. At this, Fumika says that he is the same as ever, and reveals her identity. In a rapid culmination of events, she points her gun at Mikawa, asking him to remember. Kaname and Natsuka show up, and Kaname knocks the gun out of Fumika's hands. Fumika responds that she didn't intend to shoot, but Kanaka yells at Fumika to say the code. It is too late - Mikawa shoots Fumika with her gun.

Oh shi-
Thoughts:
Oh my, another epic episode. A cliffhanger worthy of Code Geass 25. (But not as distressing, thankfully.) I had been under the impression that Mikawa Kirameki was dead, since Fumika'd shot him and all. Anyway, he's batshit insane, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's committed all sorts of dastardly acts in the name of 'beauty'. His obsession with glass pens and his house add to his pomposity, futhering the all-around dislikability of his character. Annnd, regarding Fumika's condition, I'm not really too concerned. One, she's the main character; and two, she's a deliverer. Magic, etc, plus we have 5 more episodes to go.
