キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!!!!
In case you're wondering, episode 7 of Spice and Wolf is DVD only, so whatever that took place is anybody's guess. Then again, it doesn't seem to disrupt the story in anyway, so it should be alright to jump into this week's episode.
Rumors abound of a magician that is able to summon wolves which attacks humans spooks local merchants. Horo simply comments about hoping it isn't female, since Lawrence is real weak when it comes to them. Word. Unhappy that the bars in the town their in close much to early, Lawrence assures Horo that their next destination is bigger and livelier. Considering her priorities in life, Horo asks if they have apples, although Lawrence wasn't too sure about it, as since it was nearly winter, it would be most likely being preserved. He then goes on about how peaches were also preserved, albeit in a more luxurious and delicious manner. The thought of it makes Horo drool with anticipation as she makes Lawrence promise to buy some for her. Horo loev sweet things :3

And so, the pair go to the local merchant to do some business. This time around, Lawrence decides to sell off the pepper he got from the previous town, and doing so will require the use of a scale. Since he doesn't have his own, both parties agree to use the merchant's one instead. Okay, it's pretty obvious that damn thing is loaded somehow, since they took the trouble to focus so heavily on it. As no human trickery can escape Horo's senses, she immediately notices that something was amiss. As it was the time when Lawrence first traded in the fur, Horo decides to put on a little charade to nail the dishonest merchant. Taking advantage of the situation, Lawrence blackmails the merchant into giving up much more than he had initially offered.

Celebrating their sudden windfall, Lawrence and Horo spend the night merrily drinking away. This prompts Horo to ask Lawrence for oil as a reward, but he turns her down as she owes him too much already. So the question at hand is , how does a nubile young girl now under the influence of alcohol, with no valuables repay her debts to a healthy, heterosexual man?

Yeah, I wished that happened too. Oh well. With that, Lawrence and Horo resume their business trip to Rubinheigen, with shiny loot obtained at the expense of the dishonest merchant. On the way, Lawrence is warned of bandits by a traveling convoy. In addition, there is of course the threat of wolves that add to the already perilous journey. Since Horo has experience in dealing with both of them, she assures Lawrence that it would all be fine. However, Horo suddenly stops momentarily as she feels an ominous presence of the type of human she despises. So what is it that can even make the fearsome wolf god uneasy? As it turns out, it was none other than a seemingly harmless shepherd. Lawl wut? A seemingly harmless female shepherd. Ah.

A somewhat less eventful episode, we get to see Horo work her magic as one who brings abundance yet again, proving the first time was no fluke. Another interesting thing to note would probably be the appearance of this new character who is very cute IMO, but from experience, adorable girls in this show are the dangerous ones, so I won't be surprised if this shepherd girl turn out to be the magician who's been wrecking havoc lately. Shin out.
