So, I started this blog on December 17, 2007. Of course, by that time, I had been long done with Code Geass. As such, I have *no* Code Geass related material on my blog. This post is an attempt to rectify that problem.
'Problem?', you say. Yes, problem. I'm terribly fanatical about Code Geass. At one point, I wanted to move to Japan and order Pizza Hut, so I could get the toy they were offering. Yep, almost as fanatical as a Narutard. But not quite.
Enough rambling, let's get to the entry.
Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion
(コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ, Kōdo Giasu: Hangyaku no Rurūshu)
Studio: Sunrise
Character Design: CLAMP
Episodes: 25
(R2's impending release is like totally not the reason I posted this. I am so serious.)
Summary:
Well, Code Geass is about this guy, his name is Lelouch Lamperouge. But not really. His actual name is Lelouch vi Britannia, and he's a prince. Lulu (as I so affectionately refer to him) lives currently in Japan, attending a Britannian school named Ashford Academy. But wait, wut is Britannia?
Britannia is, for all intents and purposes, Britain on steroids. Amerikkka never gained its independence, so Britain's influence spread unchecked. It's pretty clear that they're going for WORLDU DOMINATIONU, and are (initially) portrayed as antagonists. But you already knew all this.
Ok, so what? Well, turns out Lulu's mommy was sakujo'd by his own people - members of the royal family, no less. Something about her being a commoner, not fit to be the Emperor of Britannia's (who's a real FGT, btw) wife. Attack on Lulu's oka-san leaves his sister Nunnally blind and crippled. In the wake of the attack, Lulu and Nunnally assume their mother's maiden name, Lamperouge, and live under the protection of the Ashford family. (Yep, Ashford Academy.)
Naturally, Lulu doesn't take his mom's death and sister being disabled too well. When he asks the Emperor why his mother wasn't protected, the Emperor says that the weak should die, and sends Lulu to Japan as a political hostage. There, Lulu becomes best friends with the Prime Minister's son, Suzaku (who is also a real FGT, btw). Shortly after, however, Britannia invades Japan, renaming it Area 11, and forcing Lulu into hiding.
The real story starts when Lulu meets a girl named C.C., who grants him the power of Geass. This allows him to control the minds of other people through eye contact, but it can only be used once per person. Taking advantage of his power, Lulu sets his revenge against Britannia into motion.
Utilizing the hatred that the Elevens have against Britannia, he mobilizes a struggling sect of the Japanese Resistance into a force to be reckoned with, now renamed the Order of the Black Knights. Styling himself as the mysterious Zero, Lulu causes significant headache for the Britannian presence in Japan; initially killing his half-brother Clovis. His plans complicate when his older half-sister, Cornelia, replaces Clovis as the governor of Area 11; who unlike Clovis, is a military leader. Additionally, Lulu's best friend Suzaku is enlisted as the elite pilot of the Knightmare Lancelot. Due to Lulu's unwillingness to eliminate Suzaku, the latter remains a thorn in his side.
Lulu's intentions go even more awry when his younger half-sister Euphemia proposes the Special Administration Zone of Japan - meant to bring peace between the Britannians and the Japanese. Meeting with her, Lulu agrees to the idea, even showing her his Geass. His power chooses a terrible time to malfunction, however; as he makes a joke about killing all the Japanese. Lulu's Geass becomes permanently activated, and Euphemia follows orders - forcing Lulu to kill her. Suzaku and Cornelia are outraged; the former had a budding relationship with Euphemia, and the latter pampered her little sister unconditionally.
Ever the opportunist, however, Lulu uses the public's anger at Euphemia's 'betrayal' to spearhead an attack against Britannian forces. The attack goes initially well, but after capturing Cornelia and ascertaining that his sister Nunally has been kidnapped by a mysterious persona named V.V., he rushes to save her, leaving the Order of Black Knights in a state of disarray. Arriving to save his sister, Lulu is confronted by Suzaku. The tension goes through the roof, as both produce handguns against each other, and a shot is heard. End season 1.
Thoughts:
Lalala, okay.
So uh, greatest series or greatest series? Now, I know many wouldn't be inclined to agree with me, but I have stated that I am an avid proponent of this series. Anyway, I finally get to explain why! (To some extent, anyway…)
Things I liked:
Things I didn't like: (Different from parts I left out, but yet very similar.)
Though, I wasn't too thrilled with the, 'Okay episode 23 ends in a cliffhanger, come back in Summer for the rest.'
Summer: 'LOL 24-25 one episode bigger cliffhanger see you next year kbye!' Can you say RAAAAAAAAAAGE?
Well. I know I left some parts out. I didn't really feel they were important. In fact, some things would have been better off never being a part of the storyline.
Funny thing is, most people reading this article have already seen the series, and really don't need me to write this at all. At least I have the 'Code Geass' category now, hehe.
[03:00] Me: lol finishing touches on Code Geass post
[03:01] Me: It's been bugging me how I tout Code Geass as my favorite series and yet I have not posted on it once
[03:01] - Shin Asuka -: pwnt
[03:01] Me: Exactly
[03:01] Me: Except now, I'll be less pwnt
[03:02] - Shin Asuka -: ww
[03:02] Me: Haha, I win the day yet again.
I know I'm leaving something important out. This article will be periodically updated as I remember.

@ lanie: I didn’t really care too much for Euphie, tbh xD
@ blissmo: Yesss! :D
@ Karry: I don’t know, what makes you say that? If you think I speak some random nonsense at times, it’s because you need to lurk moar.
@ Webb: You’re kidding? Go watch NAO. And please not dubbed. Jun Fukuyama won an award for his portrayal of Lulu/Zero, and you’d totally be missing out.

Well, I’m downloading it now. So in the near future, I’ll be able to keep up with the series. I wonder if I’ll become a code geass fanatic….I probably will. Man, this DL is gonna take awhile.. Week maybe?

When I saw the caption “yandere” under Euphie, I started balling. Man, it was devastating, but now all is in the past. R2 marks a new beginning. Sayounara Euphie, my moe object now remains loyal and true with C2~
p.s. I’m doing Code Geass R2 reviews, though I just started, I’ll soon catch up with the latest ep.5. Visit me at http://www.anime-yokoso.com
