Despite the script brilliance of Ichiro Okouchi, I really feel that the plot is starting to take its toll. Honestly, how much more cake they could pile onto Britannia's plate?
The odds are so slanted in Britannia's favor. To an inane degree.
Don't believe me? Let's take a look:
By the end of Code Geass season 1, these were the odds:

Order of Black Knights:
- Lelouch, a tactical genius, who also has a Geass that can control minds
- C.C., a mysterious immortal, with the ability to grant Geass upon certain individuals.
- Kallen, who is (relatively) a good Knightmare pilot.
- Todou, a skilled Knightmare pilot and good tactician.
- Diethard, a resourceful communications and media expert.
- Lakshata, a brilliant scientist.
- Support of the old Japanese upper-class, which was able to make Knightmare frames on par with Britannia's Sutherlands.

Holy Empire of Britannia:
- Suzaku, the Ultimate Coordinator.
- Lloyd, an eccentric and brilliant scientist.
- Cornelia, a skilled Knightmare pilot as well as a decent tactician.
- Euphemia, winning the hearts of the people.
- Schneizel, who is apparently not only interested in research, but is said to have been the only person able to beat Lulu at chess.
- V.V., dunno? Probably similar if not more powerful than C.C.
- Superior numbers and weaponry
- Superior technology
- Superior training
- More resources
Comparatively,
(+O in favor of Order of Black Knights, +B in favor of Holy Empire of Britannia, ~ for nil.)
Schneizel > Lulu …… +B
V.V. > C.C. …… +B
Suzaku >>>>>>>>> Kallen …… ++++B
Todou >= Cornelia …… +O
Euphemia > Diethard …… +B
Lloyd == Lakshata …… ~
Superior technology, numbers, weaponry, amount of resources >>>> Support of old Japanese upper class …… ++B
I forgot though, Ultimate Coordinator > All …… ++++++++++++++B

Yay, now let's go to Code Geass R2.
Order of Black Knights:
- Inherits most items from previously, although in serious disarray. Diethard and Lakshata are in exile, as well as many pilots and members incarcerated.
Holy Empire of Britannia:
- Inherits all items from previously; minus Euphemia. (Well, I guess Cornelia too.)
Gains:
- Emperor's Geass. Well, he's had it… but he also now knows Lulu's identity. Really, everyone is just dancing to the tune he's playing. I steadfastly believe he can crush Lulu whenever he wants to.
- Knights of the Round. More elite Knightmare pilots for Britannia. Suzaku's Rank 7… there's 6 that are better than him? Oh joy.
- Rollo. Hey, you've got a Geass too! It even appears to multi-function, you can teleport and control minds? How enviable!
'But Nagato, you forget all the random chance and luck that plays into this!'
Yeah. Okay. Random chance and luck. Let's see, since Lulu always relies on his painstakingly thought out strategies, the lack thereof random chance and luck would benefit him the best, right?
'I guess…'
Now, how often does random chance and luck work in Lulu's favor during Code Geass season 1?
'Well, not that often…'
There you go.
Holy Empire of Britannia:
Inherits all items from previously.
- Random chance and luck
You know, I know Code Geass has still been pretty EPIC and all, but c'mon. I'd like to see Lulu become a REAL threat to Papa Charles. Imagine, the level of epic would increase tenfold. A giant conflict that engulfs the planet. Not to sound warmongering, but that's what we watch Code Geass for, right? The epic.
What? What about the Chinese Federation? Zero's going to bring them into the fight? That might turn it into a world conflict? I can't really disagree with that, but allow me to play the pessimist for a little.
History Lesson: Remember the setting of our beloved Code Geass? Yep, Britannia invades Japan, partly to take control if its rich Sakuradite deposits, and renames it to Area 11. Back up. Britannia invades Japan.
Geography Lesson: Japan. Right. Next. To. China. Like, did they even protest?
Moar History Lesson: Remember Episode 20? You know, some diplomat fellow exiled to the Chinese Federation came back with a Chinese military unit? Annihilated by two Knightmares.
My Point: Chinese Federation might not be such a match for Britannia.
I know a few people, including my friend Aa- I mean, Bob; as well as some bloggers like Crusader from THAT are rooting for Britannia and Suzaku. Not to um, slander them or anything, but am I ever glad they're a minority. >_>;; (My apologies to anyone I've offended, keep in mind I am ranting. Anything and everything prior to the next line can be discarded as nonsense. Kthx. ~_<)
Well hey, let's see how much my opinions change in a month or two. xP
Did I mention Britannia is evil and bent on world domination? More on this some other time.

I have faith in Goro Taniguchi’s ability to crush your feeble predictions beneath the weight of his crack-smoking storytelling.

dont you find it odd that the Brittanian Enpire is based in the Americas instead of the British Isles?

So true, a glance at the OP we see Lelouch has a tough road ahead of him because the number of characters on the Brittania side outnumbers the Black Knight. In S1 Lelouch didn’t really do much damage although he often time partially achieves his objective. The 3 girls shown in the OP reminds of the the girl trio from Gundam Seed, which doesn’t bode well for them.
Lelouch need someone with the same hax ability as Suzaku. Perhaps the Chinese dude will provide that for him.

The last shot of the OP shows a HUGE crowd of Black Knights, so I think Zero will gain many followers this time. And I wouldn’t underestimate the Chinese if Li Xingke (spelling?) is any indication.
It is also possible that Rollo will switch sides (hinted in the ED ’cause he has one angel wing and one demon wing). Let’s see.

@ IKnight: Hehe well, I just feel that the scriptwriters would have a lot more to work with if the plot weren’t so one-sided.
@ Setsuna-san: I do, actually. But I’ll address that another time… ;D
@ Falen: I know. I’d feel better if Suzaku only damaged Lulu’s plans instead of rout them entirely, as often happens.
@ Son Gohan: Well keep in mind that shot is of all the little henchmen… Britannian army regulars would far outnumber that. You bring up a good point about Rollo though.
