Why oh why??

Impressions:

One of the new series this season from Madhouse Studio.  The story revolves around a new and innovative system called MRI (Memory Reproduction Imaging) used to solve murder cases.  The basic idea is to hook up the system to the removed brain of the victim.  The system is able to project images from the victim's brain which may help in solving the case.  The premise is an interesting one and may remind fans of the movie Minority Report.  The story is told from the perspective of Aoki, who is a newbie at the department and is an expert in lip reading.  He makes for an interesting protagonist in that he clearly understands the controversial nature of using such system and is unsure himself whether he fully supports it.  While the first case progressed in fairly predictable fashion, I think this series has a lot of potential and can very easily evolve into a mature and intelligent mystery drama.
