Wasted flan is wasted. :(

Zero is obviously jealous of Yuki's affection for Kaname. His caustic words send her running, and she throws herself onto a sofa and then we get hit by flashbacks, which last for the remainder of the episode.

So much jealously… also, did someone slip Yuki some acid?

After being saved by Kaname and left in Chairman Cross's care, Yuki is (partly due to memory loss) very quiet and shy. With the help of Kaname's frequent visits, though, she quickly forms into the optimistic and energetic person she is today. She's still greatly afraid of vampires, with the exception of Kaname.

One day, Chairman Cross brings home another adoptive child. His name is Zero Kiryuu, whose entire family was killed by a bad vampire. Yuki finds him being emo clawing at his neck, so she stops him and tells him that she'll always be by his side, so it'll be okay. Not long after, though, Kaname shows up for his scheduled visit. Zero freaks out at Kaname's presence, attacking him with a dinner knife.
When Chairman Cross announces his plan for the Night Class, Zero is appalled.

No blood.

Naive as ever, Yuki sneaks into the Moon Dorms to meet with Kaname, but falls asleep on the stairs. When Kaname does arrive, he's tempted to feed on Yuki but stops himself. He carries her to bed and promptly vents his feeding needs on Ruka, which is witnessed by a woken-up Yuki. As always, Yuki is willing to oversee any terrifying things about Kaname because he is her savior. (In the manga, it's said that a vampire feeding on another is akin to sexual pleasure. However, Kaname only sucked Ruka's blood in a moment of weakness after seeing Yuki, and has never touched her ever again. He's avoided her ever since, causing Ruka much frustration.)

Yay, back to the present. Kaname asks Zero to come talk privately. He tells Zero that Zero is to protect Yuki, since he knows Zero will never betray her. Kaname also says that Zero is only alive because he wishes it so - so watch your step etc etc.

Thoughts:
Lot of emo this episode. Poor Zero. His life is completely at the mercy of Kaname, what a great feeling. Emo or not, I can understand why Zero must be going through a lot of mindfcuk. He hates vampires, but is a vampire, the girl he loves has only eyes for another vampire, that vampire hates him, etc.
I thought about the KanamexYuki pairing though, and though I'm one of its supporters, I've read the manga and I know that Kaname's not the altruistic vampire angel that Yuki puts him out to be. I mean, all the things he does for her is only because she's a [deleted spoiler], as well as his [deleted spoiler]. Additionally, if the other vampires' treatment of Kaname is any indication, it's easy to see why he's so anal about protecting Yuki. Kaname is also never shown saving any other humans, I don't know if this is intentional or just an oversight on the part of the manga.
