Break is over, and Kotoko and Irie prepare for their first day at college. Kotoko can't stop thinking about Irie's kiss with her the night of the graduation party, so she makes the mistake of telling Satomi and Jinko. (I'm sure she'll regret that in the future. No doubt.) They soon encounter the rest of Class F, who are all in the Art Department. Due to this, the other university students have started referring to the Arts Department as 'Class F', spurring Jinko into a stfu-your-voice-is-so-grating rant about how the Class F label will stick with her for life.
After class, Kotoko and friends are assaulted by every club in the university, trying to recruit them as new members. This has Kotoko wondering about what club Naoki will join, and that she'd like to follow him. With Satomi and Jinko's goading, Kotoko goes to spy on Naoki. He's talking to a beautiful woman, which is CAUSE FOR ALARM. However, when the woman, Matsumoto Yuuko, asks him out for a cup of tea, he declines. Looks like she's in the same boat as Kotoko. Ensuing EYE LIGHTNING battle has Kotoko as the loser.
That night, Naoki not only admits Matsumoto is beautiful, he says that she's smart, having placed rank five on the mock exam. Kotoko is crushed by the overwhelming odds, leading Naoki to toy with her since he knows she's jealous. Naoki then makes a pass at her, but ACTUALLY JUST KIDDING, leaving her frustrated and angry.
Next day the cafeteria, Kotoko is ordering food when she encounters (ohgod) Kinnosuke, who conveniently lumps half of Naoki's potions onto Kotoko's tray. Blah blah he's such a diligent worker, holding two jobs, one of which to annoy and embarrass Kotoko.
Naoki is approached by a man named Sudou in a pink shirt, who says 'I want you' all blushing-like, which everyone mis-interprets. Actually, Sudou just wants Naoki to join his club, and Naoki reluctantly agrees. Kotoko immediately pesters Naoki about which club it is, but he won't tell her. Determined to find out, she follows him after school, but runs into Sudou. He asks her if she'd like to join the tennis club, and she agrees because Naoki's in it. Well unfortunately, so is Matsumoto.
Turns out that their tennis club is rank 3 nationally, and the reason Sudou wanted Naoki and Matsumoto is because the tennis club's rumored intensive regimen has been scaring away potential members. With Naoki who was top of the tennis club in high school and Matsumoto who is the girl's runner-up, they're sure to garner more interest. Poor Kotoko's regretting what she's gotten herself into, though. The club's inhuman regimen is no rumor after all.
Thoughts:
Why is Naoki such a TEASE. Omg. Right when Kotoko says she's going to stop thinking about him he has to go and change that, then proceeds to treat her as indifferently as before. Gaah~
And uh-oh Matsumoto. She's beautiful, smart, AND plays tennis? Is that like the perfect match for Naoki or the perfect match for Naoki? At least we know this is an anime and she's not going to get any Naoki-poon because the main character always wins amirite?
I totally call the news of Kotoko and Naoki's kiss coming out soon, since she made the blunder of telling Satomi and Jinko.
Next episode there'll apparently be a love triangle. Sudou who loves Matsumoto who loves Naoki, as well as Kotoko who loves Naoki. Kotoko teams up with Sudou to sabotage an impending Naok x Matsumoto relationship.

I’m telling ya. He’s just being an ass. He doesn’t care about her or Matsumoto for that matter. Aghh, I despise these two getting together at the end.

In fact, all the men in INK are pretty worthless. Then again, Kotoko is a Moetard without the Moe. I hate all the characters (except for Naoki’s mum) yet I keep watching; there something addictive about this series.

The thing that gets me the most is that Naoki reminds me too much of myself. I guess that’s why I don’t like him, lol.
