Looks like the Federation hasn’t stopped in its “peace keeping” duties. Bombs are being dropped, people are dying, and the world is still full of conflict. The greater half of this premiere is devoted to showing us how the Mobile Suits have evolved in four years, what the superficial world situation is, what’s been going on with the information providers from season one, as well as how Saji and Louise have fared.
Saji, as those more cynical have suspected, still hasn’t become much, he’s still a space worker, still a wuss, and is still blinded by his own perceived problems. Louise, whom I thought became a part of Celestial Being, actually joined Ribbons and Co. and is piloting an MS, which was a shocking (but refreshing actually) direction.
There’s some more details scattered around throughout the middle of the episode, but I honestly don’t care about those lesser characters and developments (I’d totally hit Soma though, and Sergei…Sergei Sergei Sergei…I melted ._.).
So four years after the events of the season one finale, it seems Setsuna was operating solo with his self repaired Exia, which, unfortunately, doesn’t completely overpower the suits being used now. Exia can still take quite a beating, the A-LAWs had to form up, use two beam sabres and gank from above and below to trash a five year old machine.
And those of us who watched season one could totally see Tieria coming to save Setsuna. Seravee easily trashes the MS that tries to hit him from behind; leaving Louise and another pilot, who retreat.
Back at the new Ptolemy, Feldt and Ian are relieved, new loli girl needs something shoved into her, and Lasse seems to have developed an Aura of the Badass. On Earth, Sumeragi…was pretty much a fucktoy for four years…
(Did I mention that the new intro song packs a nice punch to the series? It punched me hard enough to make me look for all of UVERworld’s albums ._.)
After the intro, Tieria just shoves more up Saji’s ass, and Setsuna heads out for someone more important than a whiney kid who’s still hung on a handless girl who can’t pilot.
Impressions:
Really good premiere, seems much more serious than the original tone of season one, and really twisted some expectations of mine around. Now I just need to wait another month for the intro song to come out ;_;
Oh, and here’s the pics that I probably would’ve used somewhere, but didn’t because I didn’t feel like typing out every little detail.

I thought the Tieria with the frilly hair was the true one, and the straight-haired was actually the clone, geez. Damn Tieria, they should have made you a girl instead.
I think Louis was actually swayed onto believing the Innovators.

man that was a really good episode. lol hey i was wondering if anyone made a gif out of the last shot of Gundam where u see the GN particles moving durign the head shot near the end. anyways it was a good episode great episode epic

Yes, it certainly is a good episode. I hope Saji pilots a Gundam. He is certainly a Kira recipe. :)

Saji is now the only one remaining representative of innocent people dragged unto the war… I want to see him get on some action for some “justice” or their so-called “vengeance”. And after that, maybe he can die peacefully like what .sea said :P

@jitensha: Saji isn’t a Kira recipe…Kira at least defended (rather successfully, considering he was doing 1v4’s, even without counting the non-gundams)…Saji doesn’t even have the willpower/guts/whateveryouwanttocallit to comfort his own girlfriend…he’s more of a Shin recipe…minus the sister complex…wait…scratch that…

@ .sea: there’s only tieria & regene tho i think i spied another dark purple hair @ the end of season 2. a movie’s coming out this year… can’t wait 2 watch it. the teaser trailer showed a lyt in jupiter. tho i watched the nxt trailer, i don’t think i lyk tieria’s raphael, il lyk virtue & seravee better. lockon’s zabaniya isn’t up 2 d scratch & i htink he’s turned a bit into an emo after anew died. allelujah’s harut or marut or whichever it was s still d same. i lyk setsua’s quan/t/a d best he’s got gn fangs now!
