Yes, at last. The first episode of Chaos;Head has aired… hmm, a few days ago. That’s right, I’m slow with getting materials. But anyhow, moving on with the preview.
Preview!
But before that, some impressions about the series. I’ll still put it here, even though some of you will browse down anyway.
At first, I thought this is another gorefest, but Chaos;Head is one mind-bogling piece that I think can be as entertaining as Deathnote, and Mirai Nikki and DOUBT, although the last two haven’t been adapted to anime yet (Not until next year maybe, and I’m not sure with Doubt.). And speaking of gore, School Days did make good use of it in the forms of Sekai stabbing Makoto repeatedly (that was splendid), Sekai being pawned by Kotonoha and opening her up, and of course, the Nice Boat scene with Kotonoha and Makoto’s severed head. And speaking of which, yet again, Shin has a very nice post on Lelouch and C.C.’s, Nice Cart.
Anyhow, Ga-Rei is good gore, which kinda reminds me how the first episode of Shigofumi went– the episode’s protagonist dies in the end. I haven’t check it out, but hopefully, I will this week.
And with all the sh*t I’ve just layed down, finally, the preview. Phew.
PRELUDE
The episode started off with the desolate Akihabara, with the protagonist laying on the ground. A pink-haired girl goes by his side. “Angel?” he asked himself.
Then comes out this awesome blade, which I’ve been seeing with all the promotional images I’ve seen.
And then she leaned in and kissed him. Of course this is some sort of a figurative or implied give-away with what’s gonna happen, but I won’t spoil myself if I were myself. Wait, what?
And he did say “We are the only people in this world.”
PART OF THE OP
Judging from the OP, the protagonist sure is withdrawn from society, or should I say ‘reality’.
Oh cool! Shiny!!! I want one!
EPISODE PROPER
Whoa, good morning to you!
Ok, meet our main man– Nishijou Takumi (or Taki as this girl calls him). He lives in a bunker on top of a building, and in a world of delusions. In truth, this girl is but a delusion of Sena, an idol Takumi is so obsessed with.
He pretty much doesn’t care about the real world, he even worked up to manage this elaborate planner to keep his grade in minimum, and just enough to graduate.
He’s obsessed in online gaming, and did I mention Sena-chan? Oh, do that to me too, Sena-tan! And he is so not into 3d girls.
In a chat room with his friend GRIM, he was sent a link about the strange cases that have been happening in Shibuya– New Generation or New Gene.
1st case: 5 students jumped down a tall building. This was called ‘MASS DIVE’.
2nd case: A boy’s corpse was found with an incised fetus inside his stomach. This was later labeled ‘PREGNANT MAN’.
What?! You didn’t tell me you have a cute sister, Taku! Her name is Nanami and she talks in the 3rd person most of the time, which is kinda cute.
Oh, an indirect kiss! Right off the cola bottle he was just drinking from!
Of course, it’s just another delusion of his. Oh, incest! I’ll buy it.
Cute imouto-chan is cute! But our man here ain’t into incest that much; he doesn’t even bother bringing his sister to the station. Hidoi yo!
She said, that their father ordered for him to have a cellphone so they can contact him. But he rejects the idea. Hidoi! Hidoi yo!
Back to his computer, a new person comes in the chatroom, and bombed him with pron links, I mean image links– something about New Gene. He was creeped-out by the new character, who’s name is SHOGUN, since he does know a lot about the ongoing mysterious murders. He accidentally drops the mouse, and a link was opened, showing a man impaled by lots of metal stakes.
He said to himself, “Sono me, dare no me?” (These eyes, who are they from?)
He goes to an internet cafe instead, and in the way home, he stumbles upon a murder— it’s the same scene he saw in the image link.
And he encounters a pink-haired girl in the crime scene, who seems to know his name, and said she has been waiting for him.
Oh, so cute! Even with all the blood everywhere. Geez, I’m having this new fetish, seriously.
Of course, our sissy hero runs in so much shock and fear. Pussy cat!
Meanwhile, a blue-haired girl, who is good in singing, asked herself the same thing Taku said to himself: “Sono me, dare no me?”
The next day, Taku, still in a lot of fright and nervousness, nervously goes to school nervously. Did I mention he’s very nervous? And he thinks someone has been following him.
And he thinks it’s this girl, who his sister met earlier in the episode, and seems to be the clumsy-ojou-sama figure.
Another delusion: in the pedestrian, she attacks him the a long stake.
He runs and bumps to a parked scooter in an alley. And ojou-san (like a heiress), followed him and offered him help, but he’s too scared, and asks her to leave him alone.
Her name is Kuzonoki Yua, and the truth is, “he caught her interest”. That what she said. Oh, and she sounds a lot like Mizuki from Lucky Star.
He thought to himself “Impossible! From what eroge is this from?”
He hurt his leg so she accompanied him to his bunker/house.
He thought “I won’t be fooled by a 3d girl.”
As it turns out, Yua actually is a Sena fan as well. Fujoushi (a girl interested in manga. i think). And she sees the stake he accidentally carried home from the crime scene, though he didn’t see it, he thought it was just a delusion. Yua asks him to come with her to Akihabara to shop; and he said yes.
Meanwhile, it was just reported about the guy impaled with lots of stakes. And it came after Shogun sent him those images, which is kinda weird. It seems Shogun knows where and when the next crime is gonna happen.
The next day, guess who he meets? Why it’s killer-san! And again, she knows his name!
PART OF THE ED
There’s a lot of girls that are gonna be in this. Ooh, sounds like harem to me.
Finality
I enjoyed this episode. Of course, the gore is still in minimum, not to spoil the viewers. There are still a lot to happen. A lot of twistedness are still to come so I definitely recommend this to mystery fans out there.
Next episode: Ego. More development with the pink-haired girl, Yua and Nana.
This subbed episode was brought to me by Dark-Rebirth. Thank you for reading! Until next episode!

@ rollchan: Yah, he kinda lives like Tatsuhiro.
@ Webbmaster62: Oh, we’ll see about that. But then again, it might. We just have to wait for a good plot.
@ chimasternmay: kool! I’m glad you liked it. I just wonder why a number of blogs ain’t considering covering this series.

This episode is so good… I didn’t really expect it to be this good. The combination of gore, mystery…stupid delusions.. and moe-scence is so cool, ne?

@rollchan: It’s ok. But I’m already fine with this… errr.. right. I’m just accustomed to doing this style

Surprisingly watchable despite the first batch of incoherent subs; The hero’s so alike to me in terms of attitude that it’s almost spooky. I too, talk to my figurines from time to time.

@Shin: You’re creeping me out now meido Shin.

Hahaha, it’s pretty easy to guess why this is called Chaos, by looking at the screencaps. lol. It sure looks crazy enough.
