I really had to put in ” : ” with ” 3 “…. :3 = !!!!?
Yay! Episode 3 is up now!! Now, with no further ado, off with the preview!
The episode started off with Kuze having a violin recital, presented in an abstract world scenario, then suddenly collapses. This has something to do with what happened some time ago in his career.
On Yuu’s way to the rooftop, since he saw Yuuko throwing paper planes again, he bumped into Amamiya (the teacher) at the stairwell. He still asks Yuu to join the Arts Club, but he still coldly refuses. He wished he had Yuu’s talent, but Yuu said he had no interest in art. In the middle of the conversation, Yuuko was just on her way down the stairs. For a second, Yuu thought the one Yuuko called ‘Nii-san’ was him; actually she was referring to Amamiya-sensei. I’m having a feeling that Yuu now misses being called ‘Nii-san’ by Yuuko, now it’s just ‘Yuu-kun’.
He noticed Yuuko not wearing her indoor shoes. She said, when she opened her shoebox, they weren’t there. Not bearing to see her like that, he immediately borrowed a pair of slipper in the staff room. As he said, if something bad were to happen to her, he’d feel bad. I’m having the giggles now.
Meanwhile, in the present, Kuze has been ignoring Mizuki. This perhaps has something to do with her telling that she’s fallen for him.
Back in the past, Amamiya (from now on I’ll refer to Amamiya as the teacher) asks Yuu if he came from the same orphanage as Yuuko, because he finds it mysterious how strangely attached she is to him. Later, he asks him to personally tell Hirono Nagi to stop being naked in the art room, because many have been complaining to him. No don’t do it Yuu!
Mizuki meets Yuu in a church. He knows she’s Renji’s cousin, he knows about everything that happens in the city after all. She asked about Kuze Shuichi, the musician, and where he is. He replied he’s not keeping track of Kuze, but he did give her an advice: “Don’t get too deep with him. If you get too deeply involved, prepare yourself.”
Past. Nagi joins in Kuze and Yuu’s conversation about Yuuko. They found Yuuko’s indoor shoes hidden atop the a locker. Nagi said people wouldn’t do that if they don’t have bad intentions. I was amused seeing Yuu blush like a tomato after Nagi said the only clothing she was wearing at the time was that robe.
Ooohhh!!! This is my favorite part of this episode: Mizuki meets Chihiro-chan!!! Mizuki did metion that unlike Kei, Chihiro has an enchanting mysteriousness that makes her fall in love. Then she embraced her, because precious moments like that needs a hug in it. I laughed hard when Mizuki said “This is bad, my nose is going to bleed.”
Sadly though, Chihiro reveals to Mizuki something bad about Kuze. No, not about the pedo thing.
Kuze meets Yuu in the church, he said he will end everything tonight.
Mizuki was startled with what she read in Chihiro’s diary, Kuze’s nearly dying. Half a year ago, in the middle of a concert, Kuze had heart spasms and collapsed, it seems nothing can be done now. So Kuze told Renji and everybody else except Mizuki just not to mind it.
Back with Yuu and Yuuko, it was confirmed that Yuuko was being bullied, yet she’s still calm. She labels it as medium-level only. Meaning, she’s suffered thing far worse than what she’s experiencing now.
Chihiro visits Mizuki, and told her, as Himura said, that if whe wants to hear Kuze play the violin, she has to go to the beach tonight. She makes it in time for his finla recital, and it was spectacular.
But in the end, he burns the violin. she tries to extinguish to flame, which ended to her kicking the violin into the water. Her hands were badly hurt after. She starts crying, saying she’s still no good, and he comforts her.
When Yuu and Yuuko checked her locker, her shoes were trashed, but still she said to not mind it. He starts being bothered by these harassment. She said it was cute, because it’s how humans are after all.
Finality
I had a heck of enjoyment with what’s happening with Yuu and Yuuko, from little sibling relationship to what we might call ‘love’ in the future. It’s sweet seeing Yuu doing those things for Yuuko, and as I said, it makes me giggle like a little schoolgirl.
Now that the news about Kuze has been let out, and with Yuuko’s problems revealed with Yuu there to protect her, the series is getting more into the serious aspects of the story, which is good. It makes me wonder why in Memories, Yuuko disappears and reappears most of the time. Maybe it’s just an apparition of her? I hope this question gets answered in the future.

I’m wondering… Renji said to Mizuki on Epi01 that they’re in Australia. I thought they’re in the Phils. or maybe it’s Germany? hehehe. :D

@rollchan: They’re in Australia. It’s just that the songs mentioned in the series have German lyrics. I strongly doubt any anime series would have a main setting in the Philippines.
