Yes, ’bout damn time Rakuen gets his *ss up and about. Well, stupidity and laziness aside, and not to keep you guys, here are the well awaited (at least by me) episodes 4 to 6.
EPISODE 4: TURN
Unexpected: The way I see it, it seems Mizuki and Kuze are now having an ellicit affair (due to the kiss early that morning). Damn, the latter part in the previous episode should have been a give-away.
Meanwhile, Yuu and Yuuko go on a not-so-date date, as Yuu sees it. Ahh, love. It was fun to see that scene where Yuuko said she’ll be skipping lunch because Yuu’s been skipping lunch for quite some time. Not being able to bear the thought of Yuuko starving, Yuu agrees to going for lunch, though it’s Yuuko’s treat.
They meet Amamiya at the church during their ‘date’. And later Yuuko reveals that Amamiya also had a younger sister before Yuuko, who met an accident due to an earthquake years ago, he hasn’t drawn since then– like Yuu after he left the orphanage.
Later, Yuu meets Nagi, who seems to be jealous with Yuu going out with Yuuko.
In the present, Nagi helps Hiro with his mangaka tasks. And she’s hawt with glasses. Miyako texts him, asking to go out somewhere with her when the deadline’s over. Oh, by the way, in the present, Miyako has the school’s rooftop key, the same one Yuuko had years ago.
Yes, it’s confirmed that Kuze and Mizuki do have an intimate relaltionship, as they were just hanging out under a tree, in a wide field. But Kuze said they can’t because he’s about to die. Mizuki suddenly shot a question to him though: if he was going out with someone. He said yes, and they were engaged, that’s why they broke up. This brought Mizuki to the brink of tears.
They met Yuu, who happened to pass by to see Kuze. Mizuki asked how he could be so calm. He just replied, he’s used to death, but it’s scarier— “You know the pain, so it feels that you might break if you don’t smile.”
P.S. I laughed a little when Himura said “May the force be with you.”
At the end of the day, Kuze said he loves Mizuki, too. So he asked her never to appear in front of him again.
EPISODE 5: UTTER
Characters back in the first season are featured this episode, namely: Kyousuke, Film Research Club’s President, and Kei, who talks with Yuuko, just like what normally happens back in season 1 with the rest of prime characters. The thing about Hiro is dug too as well as with Chihiro(and how she misses her), and Kei says it’s a wound that couldn’t be healed.
Another thing, Nagi decides to come with Kei to Otowa in Australia.
Back with Yuu and Yuuko, the bullying is continuing and Yuu actually sees how the other girls at school are hurting her, yet Smoker-sensei is still has no say about it. But for the first time, Yuuko did raise her hand.
Back in Australia in the present. Nagi visits Kuze and Kei meets Miyuki.
And finally Kei reunites with Chihiro after 5 years. Her homework, piled up for 5 years.
Nagi realizes Miyuki is Kuze’s current lover. And remember about what Kuze said abou his first love? It’s Nagi. (Or at least, she’s only saying that to keep Miyuki away from Kuze.)
Back home, Smoker-sensei talks with Yuuko. He said it’s fine even if she shows Yuu her arm (which I suppose will show marks of mistreatment to her), because Yuu fears of abandoning her.
EPISODE 6: FLECTION
They didn’t go with the usual OP sequence here: No singer, No characters.
For the first time after years, Yuu started drawing again, which he labels as ‘relaxation’.
P.S. Rakuen’s famboyism surfaced again, with a particular scene where Yuuko leans on Yuu and say’s “Goodnight” as well as her sincere gestures and sayings that she does love Yuu. Kyaaah!
Meanwhile, Yuu stumbles to Nagi, who says she can’t draw anymore. And later Kuze tells him that maybe in fact the other girls were the ones scared of Yuuko, because when they look into her eyes, they get the creeps.
Like Yuu, Yuuko also doesn’t believe that God doesn’t exist. It’s because God doesn’t exist that there are so many sad and painful things. She said, if there would be a God, she wishes for him to rid the world of bad people (Ooohh, Yagami Light). But Yuu said that would be too conventional.
I also found something interesting on what Nagi said in one part: if you put “Yuu” and “Nagi” together, it’s “Yuunagi” meaning “Evening calm”. It’s the part of the evening when the wind doesn’t blow. Everything just hangs in the air. It’s like the your sense of time dissipates.
Later that day, Kuze performs his final concert, and the first time he performs in front of what he calls friends. And it was the first time Yuu saw Yuuko cry and break down, after she hears Kuze’s recital.
He follows Yuuko to the rooftop, and there finally confesses to her and wants to know the truth about her, everything about her.
Yuuko reveals everything.
If Yuu became his older brother, she would have stayed beautiful. The reason why she’s always heavily dressed was to hide her true self– Abused and tattered.
Amamiya adopted her to come in place of his dead sister who perished in the earthquake. But he realizes Yuuko is not the sister he knew. He would throw things at her and hurt her but would suddenly give her medical treatment and apologize profusedly.
But one night, on Christmas Eve, he marred her innocence. He destroyed her. She wanted her first time to be with the one she loved, to hold her gently and treat her like a princess.
The beatings continued until the present, everytime he felt displeasure, like Yuuko going out with Yuu, he’d hurt her. Continuously. And harshly.
It was intense paranoia kept within her. Unbearable pain. Insanity sealed on her composedness.
And it was regret that filled her. Why didn’t Yuu tell her not to go? Why did he push her away? Why did she have to suffer such agony? Everyday was like hell, and she wished she’d just vanish.
Finality
With episodes 4-5, I’m not disturbed anymore with Miyuki and Kuze’s affair. Actually I find it very sweet now. I’m not sure anymore if we’re to see Chihiro and the others from now on, since the thing about Kei and Chihiro have been resolved now in episode 5.
As for episode 6, it’s the most emotionally disturbing episode, considering Yuuko confessing that much, and in such a heart-breaking fashion. I was about to scream in denial, or scream in rage.
Now we’re gone halfway through the series. And as of what I’ve seen from episode 6. I’m not letting go of this series, and I’ll regret to miss a post on this. Spectacular and Breath-taking.
Next episode, it’s back to Kuze. What I’ll be looking forward to next week, or maybe the week after that, will be Yuu bashing the sh*t out of Smoker-sensei.
~until the next post. See you guys.

ef ~A Tale of Melodies~ is getting better and better, way better than Memories.
In Memories, everyone is avoiding from getting hurt. In Melodies, everyone is hurt.
That’s one way of seeing it, and maybe that’s why I love Melodies more than Memories.
Anyway, episode 6 certainly is an emotionally disturbing episode. I wanted to beat that Amamiya so much after Yuuko reveals the truth about her. I’m really looking forward to how things going to turn out, and in Kuze’s story as well.^_^

“With episodes 4-5, I’m not disturbed anymore with Miyuki and Kuze’s affair. ”
-oh yeah, both of them love each other. Love has no boundaries even if their age have a little gap. oh yeah, Typo! Mizuki, not Miyuki! n_n
“As for episode 6, it’s the most emotionally disturbing episode,”
-obviously, Yuuko told Yuu she ain’t no virgin anymore. Yuu was shocked! haaaaaar! Hey, you remember as well that disturbing episode in ef memo? When Miyako called Hirono, then the latter didn’t answered the phone. Somewhat similar in presentation on this epi.
Overall, good blog. :)

“I was about to scream in denial, or scream in rage.”
I believe I was thinking the exact same thing. It’s been ages since a story of any sort got me so emotionally involved ;_;
