Pardon me for not following through Melodies; I’ve been saving it for this season. To tell the truth, I had insanity jolts for a week. Good thing there was nobody around the house to know about it. It’s nothing big, so don’t you worry.
So moving on with the obligatory post, or should I say an advocative one at that.
EF is Art.
It made best use of story, graphics, characters, and plot. I was actually enjoying the relationship of one character to another, like coil of threads made into a ball of yarn of circumstances.
Ef is art because it makes us learn to move forward, with its melo-dramatic mood, in its own symphony of emotions, music from the heart, and unforgiving circumstances. Lives, relationships, and emotions are ephimeral, but precious; that’s why we need to treasure them.
Yuuko unfortunately died on Christmas day, on her way to the church to meet with Yuu. But her promise to meet him never ended there. She kept on waiting, while sacrificing her happiness in return, to guide a couple of people find the essence of moving forward, and lavishing every moment.
Going through the final episode…
Years after an unfortunate event.
Love was realized, keeping the most precious of memories.
Choices were made, realizing a home to return to.
Love was found, realizing the beauty of life.
Ef is art because it’s the first series in years that made me too emotionally involved in many ways.
As for episode 6, it’s the most emotionally disturbing episode, considering Yuuko confessing that much, and in such a heart-breaking fashion. I was about to scream in denial, or scream in rage.
I felt confusion, sympathy and hate, even in Kuze’s arc. He really got into my nerves, but I found it natural; he was about to die, and he doesn’t want to trouble anyone because he was already used to living in his own world. I felt sympathy and hate to Amamiya, and his delusion of his sister. He got caged by the past, and it ruined himself and the people around him, especially Yuuko.
Ef is art because it made me learn in a harsh way; because I realized we learn through harsh facts.
Here are some final lines I’d like you guys to think about:
A wind blows through the city.
The wind is cold, and at times, it may make you want to stop.
When that time comes, I want you to continue moving forward, no matter how slowly.
You’ll definitely reach it someday. Even if sad things happen, you’ll be fine. If you reach out your hand, someone will be there. Because we can share warmth.
Even if you’re alone in a tough journey, as long as you don’t let go of the hand you hold onto, you’ll definitely triumph.
That’s why you should never give up. At the end of the long , long road, happiness awaits you. Happiness gathers together and becomes an even greater happiness.
One day, I want you to realize this: You’ve experienced plenty of happiness when you walked down this road.
Never forget. You’re not alone. Carve your confident footsteps into the ground, transcend the seasons, and look up towards the sky.
Even without wings you can make it… to that dream you saw one day.
Finally, I’d like to thank Chihiro Fansubs for their wonderful present to me and to us– fansubbing this wonderful series.
Some may have not made sense. You’ll have to forgive me. Anyhow, it’s been very fun. I’ll be taking the load off for a while, so there will be no episodic blogging this season from me.
‘Til a new one, I’ll see you guys.
Two becomes one,
forever through all eternity.

EF is art, right. I hope they would make another tale of ef.

ef is art indeed, in pretty much every definition of the word. You did a nice job of closing off the series, and while it’s almost depressing to think that there won’t be another season, the show will remain with me nonetheless. Besides, I’ve still gotta rewatch memories some time :P

Even the intro alone, I could rewatch it all day. It belongs in a museum.

Well, I’m planning on posting something about Clannad some time around this week. Maybe Saturday.
So you think I’m a lazy bastard? You don’t know half of it yet.
