Yes, I’ve just achieved utmost satisfaction brought about by Toradora’s ending. I’ve no complains. Pretty much, it ended how I imagined it would end, and I’m glad about it.
So yeah, I’ve no more series to blog on this season. I can’t promise a season review, or a next season preview with all the cramming I have to handle; and it’s about time for summer here in my country.
Anyhow, here’s a quick review of what happened:
After confessing to each other on episode 24, in a rather awkward time, the two decided to elope and planned on getting married once Ryuuji turns 18, which is legal in Japan I think. They lodged at Yasuko’s parent’s place. Ryuuji planned on confronting Yasuko by having Taiga call by her cellphone and say something bad happened to Ryuuji, to make her go her parent’s house, which worked of course. If you recall, Yasuko ran from her parent after having been impregnated by Ryuuji’s father. Yasuko then meets her parents, after years since she ran away, and I swear she looked like a complete kid being scolded by her father.
Yasuko reveals that after having been impregnated, her father asked to have the child aborted, so she ran away. There was also a sweet kissing scene, which I won’t spoil for you guys who haven’t watched the last episode yet in this post. But here’s a picture.
After the whole trouble, the three want back home. But Taiga decided to go away from Ryuuji to solve her family problems. Months passed since Taiga went away, until graduation came.
Long story short, Taiga and Ryuuji, meet up at their classroom on graduation day. Apparently, Taiga has already left for another school. Ryuuji finds Taiga in the classroom locker in her attempt to surprise him (Episode 1 comes to mind). He finally says her loves her, making her fluster and hit him because of embarrassment.
Inko finally said her name too, but the bird didn’t die. I don’t care anymore.
Whoo~. That was satisfying. definitely a breath of fresh air. And hey, because of this ending, my Toradora! fanfic now makes perfect sense, which I had uploaded early this March. It’s about the married life of the two, so you guys could check it out.
With all the trouble and hassle, I could relax a bit ,watching this.

The ending is all nice, but it was hardly enjoyable due to blunt trauma caused by the way Taiga left and the amount of time she was gone (if I’m not mistaken, its about a year in the anime, 2 months in the manga).
Hell, even that black school sefuku of hers looks so… alien.. That scene was as angst-ridden as it was heartwarming.

@Summoner: We should hope for an OVA then. Yes, an OVA would be good.

The way Taiga left was bad, the time she was away was the worst.
Taiga’s intentions were to not run away and face her family, but by doing so she runs away from everyone else who loved and cared for her.
She probably did this because ryuji said he wanted to get everyone’s aproval on their marriage and share the hapiness with everyone.
Yet,this just seems completely ignorant.
It seems like there is completely no connection between taiga and ryuji, or in fact, anyone else during the time she was away. This made me VERY sad.
Yes, an OVA explaining more about the ending or their marriage would be to my hearts contempt.

it should have ended with them graduating together and getting married, taiga shouldn’t have run away, I was so sad about that :(
I loved episode 24, but I think episode 25 ruined the ending, an ova should be made where
they show us more about taiga returning and their marriage.
also, I want to see kitamura meeting his love interest in america and being happy with her,
that plot about her leaving and the fight with taiga where kitamura finds out about her
feelings, was very sad, I was like “NO,DON’T GO,OR AT LEAST LET HIM GO WITH YOU!”.
I know that in the ending we know “kitamura is studying in america”, but that’s not enough,
for the same reason it’s not enough to see how they resolved the main story, specially
after how emotional and promising was episode 24, I expected at least,
“they will be back and they will get married with everybody approving and being happy
about them and there will be a big party and everybody will be there”.
maybe if we start a petition they’ll make an ova with a less rushed ending :)

there are quite a few things i’d like to say…
1. i CRIED SO F***ING HARD AS THE FINAL ENDING CREDITS ROLLED. tears of happiness ^^
2. kinda pissed off by the final episode.. i think it’s a lot better if it had ended in ep. 24… then it’s “to be continued” to the OVA… that’d be much more satisfiying
3. had to agree with rakuen about most of the things.. but it REALLY could use a better ending
4. loved seeing taiga’s face when ryuuji said “i love you” in 25… hontou ni KAWAIIII

Kind of hated it, I kind preferred his relation platonic with taigo and that they would end up with the ones they liked in the start. Was really hoping and begging it wouldn’t be stereotypical with them ending up together.
I cried, not of the joy, but of sadness…

fantastic series. What an emotional rolllercoaster. I was kind of pissed at the end I was expecting another episode.. and turned it off just after the ending music came up. i started looking around thinking wtf this cannot be the ending!!! Stumbled upon this review site.. oh.. I was impatient. The ending i had mixed emotions. An OVA would be great.. to tie up loose ends. Like any series that can suck you in as hard as this one.. you never want it to end. The good ones go by so fast.

I am so glad I found your blog! I just finished this series yesterday and I stopped watching after the credits began rolling. so I completely missed her coming back at the end I was so incredibly downtrodden by the ending of this anime. I thought that they would never see each other again. You have no idea how touched I was at this anime and then the way it ended for me. was just too sad. thanks for pointing me to the correct ending.

I am glad other people felt as bad about Taiga leaving as I did. Up until that I really like it. I agree with Elevdrando, it felt like blunt trauma and that her uniform was alien. This is probably a stupid question, but I guess Ami liked Ryuuji too, right? At one point she said “I hope you will give me a another chance”. I was thinking there was going to be some sort of forgotton child-hood friend thing between Ami and Ryuuji, becasue I don’t really remember there being a first chance that he gave her. I felt there were a lot of loose ends for other characters too and some of my favorite ones ended up with nothing. : (

i did not like the ending. i did not like the fact that taiga left or tat it was extremely rushed. i think there should be a third season telling what happened to the other characters and what happened with taiga and ryuuji’s marriage thing and all. it made me sad when it ended without saying anything like that. oh well, if they came out with another season or a few ova’s explaining things that happened afterwards it’d be fine. but still, i didn’t want it to end!
