Yep. I’ve been sleeping all the while.
Well well then, some of you might have come to the conclusion that Rakuen is dead. Unfortunately for you guys though, I’m still alive. I went on a week’s-worth of hibernation, and I’ll be telling the tale.
I’m writing this one today, Sunday. So yeah, let’s start, shall we?
[Sunday, 7 days ago]
Thinking that I would need something so sooth my boredom, I went to a nearby Anime DVD shop (but most of the CDs are in Bluray) to canvass some series, and if not, movies to watch for the time being. These are what I got (not in order):
End of Evangelion, w/ Death and Rebirth (in 2 separate disks)
Serial Experiments Lain (Complete series in 1 disk)
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijo or Kare Kano for short (Complete series in 3 disks)
It’s a week of classics this time, since I’ve recently been magneted into the 90’s classics. Prior to the given list, I’ve already picked up Cowboy Bebop (both the complete series and the movie) in Ozine Fest this April. ‘Got it at a good price, too! And also, I happened to have borrowed (as I came to realize as I check the contents of my schoolbag) a classmate’s To Heart 2 CD, which he personally encoded into DVD.
[Day 1: Cowboy Bebop Movie]
I eventually started by 3:00 in the afternoon since nobody’s using the big television anymore; well it’s not worthwhile watching something good with just a measly screen, right? I can’t see much of the subtitles that way– oh wait, I could’ve changed the language settings, as I came to realize 10 minutes after the movie started, so I played the movie again from the start. I’m such a dojikko ;P.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie again despite having watched it twice already. It’s amazing! No one can argue with that. Kudos to Sunrise and Bandai Visual for dishing out quality animation, and to Shinichiro Watanabe for quality direction. So far so good.
Ever wondered why it’s such a short vacation for me? Well, I’ll tell you even if you won’t care. I’m in a trimestral college setup, so it’s kinda longer than the semestral setup. The end of the 3rd trisem for me was this April 25. Unfortunately the start of the 1st trisem for the next schoolyear is on May 25. Basically, we only have a month of vacation. In that 4-week vacation, I have to cut off 2 weeks to renew my scholarship, and then there’s enrollment again. Whew.
[Day 2: Death and Rebirth of Evangelion]
I watched with my old man, he was like “Oh, ok. That’s nice.” A nice way to wrap up the main series and to make way for EoE.
[Day 3: End of Evangelion]
I have nothing to say besides “Oh, ok. That’s cool.” But really, it’s satisfying. I guess I wouldn’t have enough time to make a decent review and explanation.
[Day 4: To Heart 2 episodes 1-6, Lain episodes 1-6]
[Day 5: To Heart 2 episodes 7-finale, Lain episodes 7-finale]
I don’t really do ‘marathon’ when watching. I pace myself so I won’t easily run out of something to watch. I happen to have only a limited stock of anime series, and they’re not so many yet.
[Day 6: To Heart 2 OVA 1-3]
No wonder I can’t find Sasara-chan in the main series. I think she only appeared in the third OVA.
[Day 7: Kare Kano]
Yeah, I never had the chance to finish Kare Kano last year, so I’m lucky I finally found a complete set. Love is so much fun, ne?
Finality
I hope that’s enough explanation for now. Bye bye for now. Anyhow, look forward for Next Episode, ne?
