Now that you mentioned–
lolwut?!
Shocked Yui is shocked.
Honestly, Mugi might have given me nightmares with the pickled radish thing, but I’ll shrug it off this time. On with the episode proper. Let’s start off with Sawa-chan-sensei going with the forced-cosplay routine. Apparently Mio came to her senses and found this to be really fun.
Snap out of it!
Azu-nyan!!!! HNNNGGGGGG!!!!!
Yui thought “Let’s go with this!”
And that’s how Hirasawa Yui died–
I mean that’s the reason she had a cold. She wore the mini-yukata the whole day.
So Yui can’t show up for band practice. Of course the responsible imouto had a plan.
[The next day]
(Fake) Yui came the next day for pratice. Nobody found it weird so they went ahead and practiced. After one go, Mio noticed somethong different with Yui’s performance, so they went for another go.
Practically this means that Ui seems better than Yui. Shikashi–
“How did she know” you say?
She’s right!!!
Ui, apparently betrayed by her breast-size, succumbed to Sawa-chan-sensei’s immediate reaction and admitted that she disguised herself as her onee-chan.
Yui eventually shows up for practice the same day, actually forcing herself to go to school even though she’s still a bit ill. The rest of the club just asked her to take the time off and just rest and return at the day of the festival. Luckily enough, Yui’s illness turned down the morning of the festival day.
What are these weird feelings in my pants? Yuri overtones?
Okay, Yui is now officially functional. Shikashi–
She may be functional and all, but Yui’s still a retard and forgot her guitar at home. She ended up rushing back and not making it at the first performance.
Mmmmm. Ritsu…
Sawa-chan-sensei took Yui’s for the meantime took Yui’s place as lead guitar. I hope you’re happy, Baka-Raptor, but I guess not– because she didn’t go Krauser-crazy and stuff.
Yui makes it after the first performance. Actually those scenes at the first episodes were kinda flashed back in the finale, like her being distracted despite actually rushing to school.
Yui then goes on to reintroduce the Light Music Club to the audience:
And she goes on to say that at that time, the stage is their Budokan.
And then they play, which is suddenly followed by an encore because Mugi insisted.
Next episode will be the bonus episode, so I’m not sure to blog that, but I might just do so.
Alright let’s sum up K-On!
Finality:
First off are the merits attained by the show from my book.
Good characters. Pretty archetypal, but good.
Good music. I have all of their songs in my ipod right now.
Animation is still excellent, I must say, considering KyoAni has very competent people in their animations department.
Plot is reasonable, considering this is a slice-of-life show.
Humor is pretty much good.
Now here’s some things I didn’t like:
I initially thought this would be 24 episodes long like Clannad, but I guess a lot of people would just go nuts.
There’s no much character development that’s considerable in quality. The Ritsu episode was good, but then Shin screwed it up for me.
I thought they’d employ some drama in the show, but some people think that’s a bad idea since this is the kind of show that couldn’t handle much of it.
Coupled by not-so-much character development is the fact that some characters are under-appreciated like Ritsu, Mugi, Nodoka, Ui, and Sawa-sensei.
.
Overall, K-On! has been enjoyable and I would gladly get a copy of a DVD so I could show it to my young’ns (No, I don’t have children, just a niece and a nephew). Like I said, my only problem is that there’s not much episode, so there’s not much character development. If they could pull off an OVA, maybe that would be good, honestly.
So until a new show comes up from KyoAni, I’ll just wait. I hope next season would be good.
