University is not turning quite so well as Misaki had expected; everyone has been avoiding him and he has no friends yet. So, he's overjoyed when he's befriended by the older Sumi Keiichi. According to Sumi, Misaki's social difficulties stem from his association with Usami. Most students at Mitsuhashi are commoners, so they're just a little bit intimidated by Misaki. (Oh, and here I thought it was because they considered him gay.)

Misaki quickly becomes good friends with Sumi, and begins making other friends as well. Usami, however, is not pleased.
The situation escalates when Usami prevents Misaki from hanging out with Sumi. Back at the apartment, Misaki yells at Usami that he doesn't want to be Takahiro's replacement, but Usami tells him that he is not. Usami kisses Misaki, and they proceed to have hot secks.

I, too, found Usami's abrupt change in target of affection a bit hasty. I can understand why Misaki felt frustrated towards Usami, even if he didn't feel any romantic feelings towards him. Well, they're in for a jolly gay time, if you know what I mean. xP
