Despite his promise from last episode, Nowaki runs into a problem: the esteemed Dr. Clark from Amerikkka is coming to visit, and has requested to meet with Nowaki immediately upon landing. The plane is due for 2pm - which should give Nowaki more than enough time to meet with Dr. Clark before heading over to make his 7pm appointment with Hiroki. Well hah, the plane runs late.

Hiroki decides to meet Nowaki, heading to the meeting point an hour early. 7 o'clock rolls around, Nowaki hasn't arrived, and with impeccable anime weather it begins raining. When Hiroki finally decides to leave, Nowaki finally arrives, but the two pass by without noticing each other. As he leaves, Hiroki realizes to himself that he really loves Nowaki.

Arriving back at the university, a wet Hiroki is greeted by Miyagi. Miyagi dries him off, and jokingly asks if Hiroki's been dumped. Hiroki tears up, so he's promptly molested by Miyagi. None of that, now. Nowaki bursts into the room and drags Hiroki away.

Nowaki tells Hiroki why he couldn't make it on time, though naturally Hiroki is still angry. Hiroki runs to the library, when he trips and is finally caught by Nowaki. Nowaki says that his reason for going to Amerikkka was because he wanted to be on equal ground with Hiroki - since Hiroki had become an associate professor, Nowaki felt like he was falling behind. Etc etc they kiss and make up, and by 'make up' I mean make love.

Turns out that Nowaki had been consistently writing letters to Hiroki, but never mailed them since he'd be too tempted to go home.
And the cause for this entire charade? Hiroki was apparently the very one who encouraged Nowaki to study in Amerikkka. No, but he was too busy working on some thesis that he didn't even remember the event. Hiroki realizes the entire thing is his fault. SMRT.

Good job losing all our sympathies, Hiroki. You yourself don't remember something as important as your lover going to study abroad and then go completely bonkers over him not telling you? Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fial fail failf fail.
