Everyone’s having a grand old time saying that Lulu somehow obtained either Charles’ or C.C.’s code and is actually immortal and didn’t die. Much as I loved my Lulu, I’m pretty sure he died. The fanart, it lies.
In the wagon scene, where C.C. apparently ‘talks’ to the cart driver and says, ‘ne, Lelouch?’ Guys, srsly. SRSLY. I thought it was pretty cliché for a character in a story to remember another one by ’speaking’ to that character after he/she has clearly passed on. Anyway, on to the arguements…
1.) Why is Suzaku, the one who Lulu so secretively conferred his plans onto, crying, if he knew his friend would not *actually* die.
You can argue that Lulu simply didn’t tell him, but Lulu would have no reason for doing that. It wouldn’t make sense for Suzaku to take up the mantle of Zero if Lulu were still alive. Lulu would be perfectly able to be Zero without anyone knowing that he was Lulu. He was able to do it for a series and a half.
2.) Nunnally, who (for an unexplicable reason) sees Lulu’s memories as he dies, mourns her brother’s death.
If Lulu were immortal, having gained the Code of either C.C. or Charles, I’m pretty sure it’d be somewhere in his memories. Nunnally, then, would be privy to this information upon touching her brother’s hand, and honestly I think she’d be a lot more confused than sad.
3.) C.C. acknowledges that Lelouch is sacrificing himself to become a channel for all the hatred in the world.
Don’t you think, that if Lulu had really gained a Code, that C.C. would know about it? If Lulu were to fake his death, who better than to live secretly with than C.C.? Why then, would she be crying for him?
4.) It doesn’t make any bloody sense.
Lulu is doing this as a redemption for his past sins. For all the people he has killed or caused to die, for the people he has manipulated, and as compensation for using Geass on people. If we believe (as I do) that Lulu is atoning for himself, then he’s committed himself to death — it just wouldn’t make any sense if he was still alive.

That’s it for now, if I think of more I’ll post them later. Yes, and I realize half the people who think he’s alive are either 1.) trolling or 2.) in complete denial and couldn’t be convinced for the life of themselves. Whatever, I felt like typing this.

There’s a big chance he died but, there’s also a small chance he lived. Since he did take Charles’ code and blah blah blah. ; / I suppose I’m holding a little on the hope that he lived since he is one of my more favorite anime characters. >_>

I would love it if Lelouch is alive and in that cart. Can we say, Craft Lawrence, anybody? But, as much as I want that, it’d be better if he stay dead. The fucking fanart lies and people are circling a straight pixel of black hair on that cart driver, what fools.

as nice as that sounds, i’m hanging up that theory up for a while until the inevitable OVA/movie is released. and even if lelouch did die for real, i am sure sunrise will be able to pull something out of their asses to weakly explain his coming back to life.

a) Umm the reason why C.C’s crying is because she knows lelouch would have to severe all his connections to cement their zero requiem plan and live with only her as his immortal companion. That ain’t a normal life no matter how hot the babe is!
b) Yes, he can play dead and then mask himself as the great zero once more but what would happen if he was found out? It might be okay for others such as Kallen and lelouch’s sister if he was caught but i doubt others such as Ohgi, xinge ke, toudou san and the rest of the world would be so understandable. Lelouch did screw with their lives afterall … And by finding out, rebellions and wars could start again as the factions - who are now integrated - distrust each other again if the person whom the world vented all their hatred for is actually there supporting nunnaly and been present in all their meetings etc . They would feel doubly screwed!
c) Suzaku also felt the need for atonement for his crimes even though they were all based on trying to create peace and harmony. By wearing the mask of zero, he will be a hero of justice just as he wanted but at the cost of denying recognition, praise, honour and a normal life as “Kurrugi Suzaku”. The tears from Suzaku may not be from the mock murder but rather the understanding that both he and lelouch can never be the same and enjoy the company of all their friends etc which is sad.
d) Nunnaly crying after receiving the visions could be because of this! She now knows lelouchs plan of making suzaku into zero etc but she could have also seen that he would have to sever all ties to make the peace plan work. Nunnaly also truly desires world peace and was ready to bear the crux of using fleia. Knowing that lelouch instead took her place as the symbol of hatred would bring any doting sister to tears even if she knew he was not dead!
This is supported by her saying “I would be happy just living with you brother” and “I can’t bear a future without you brother..”
As she knows lelouch will be unable to support his sister and be at her side.
And the last and most important part e) Sunrise are leechers *sucks sucks*, if they know they are on a roll and gaining popularity - which code geass has done for them - They will make either another season 3 or at least a movie or 2. There is still many more brilliant ideas which they could pull to make for another great story.
However if you remember nothing of what i said, remember this!

a. What reason would C.C. have to cry for the person that she will be living with (happily I assume) for all eternity? Since when was C.C. such an emotional person to weep for something like Lulu leaving his friends and family behind? If anything Lulu is the one who is most pained, here.
b. Lulu’s pretty good at not getting found out, if you ask me. As I said, he did it for an entire season and a half.
c. I don’t think Suzaku cared about honor or recognition or praise really, he was scorned by his own countrymen for most of S1 and R2, anyway. So why would he cry for something he isn’t losing?
d. Nunnally was in a state of emotional distress. She was bawling for Lulu to open his eyes, and there was nothing that hinted that she knew he was immortal. Therefore, I assume he is not.
e. They also know that continuing [from the way they ended 25] would probably cause the series to go way downhill. A movie or OVA maybe, but not another season.

Why do you assume that Lelouch necessarily knows that he is going to survive his death? It seems likely to me that he gained Charles’ code after killing him (is it that hard to consider that the immortal person DIED because his immortality transferred to the person who defeated him?), and that the code wouldn’t be activated, and therefore wouldn’t be known about, until the holder’s death, as evidenced by both the C.C flashback and Charles’ code activating AFTER he kills himself. Assuming that Lelouch didn’t know he would survive (which again, has precedent in the canon) instantly denies every one of your points. To answer why C.C was crying, I would say that either she also didn’t know Lelouch had a code, or she was crying for another reason, such as all the casualties of the multiple wars or the fact that Lelouch is going to be immortal as well (C.C never did have many nice things to say for eternal life, and her life’s wish was to die, you will recall).

Hmm… Well after deliberating on the previous posts from this site and other sites that pointed out that Lelouch was “supposedly” Alive and somehow attained Charles’ Code… Here is my take:
Lelouch is dead.Period.
My Arguments are as follows:
1. Suzaku’s Tears
eventhough Suzaku loathed Lelouch up to the final scenes of the anime there
seems to be a remaining bond of friendship within his heart. Previous posts have
explained it further in detail so I will not be burdening you with my take on it.
2. C.C.’s Tears
ah…now this is where the argument starts.
Many have said that the reason of C.C.’s tears were because of the punishment of immortality imposed onto Lelouch.
Remember the scene on the last episode where C.C. confronts Lelouch if he were angry to her for granting her the geass because it forever changed Lelouch destiny?
Lelouch’s reply would suffice for the end of discussion of Lelouch Immortality…
and CC mourned for a death of a great man.
Come on, who in their right mind would not symphatize with Lelouch martyrdom if you have knowledge of it.

and lastly,,,,,
3.Nunnally’s Flashbacks
many have pointed out that the reason for the flashback were because of Code Inheritor and a highly potential Geass inheritor and so forth and so forth….
Recall the scene where Anya(Marianne) and C.C. where explaining to Suzaku what the World of C and the Ragnarok Junction were all about. The World of C were supposedly the Collective Consciousness and Sub-Consciousness of Humanity.
It is also said that all memories of the past , present and the future lies. This is similar to the “Akashic Record” were the record of history and the future supposedly lies and can be accesed by a transcender or an oracle. Remember that Nunnally early on displayed abilities of an “Esper”. At the last scene with her brother, because of her ultimate love , she unconsciously have gained accessed at the World of C and somehow the flashbacks pertaining to the Zero Requiem were made available to her,Therefore the outflow of tears from Nunnaly ensured. Again who would not weep for the death of a great man. I’ll bet that any of those close to Lelouch will wept if they have known his true intentions.
now many would have said how come C.C. was happy at the end at what the hell happened to Charles Code if Lelouch did not inherited it.
1.CC was happy because of the present state of the world and the prospect for the future were bright.Remember that CC have lived for a long time and have seen that the world could be a better place because of the death of a man.She were reminiscing good times with Lelouch and that explains her final lines.
2.Charles Code still remains at the World of C incorporated within the Collective Consciousness of Humanity. Remember Charles is an immortal and Lelouch did not make any move to inflict a fatal wound to Charles hence the Code cannot be passed to him.Also what happened to Charles were the act of the Collective Consciousness of the World of C.
and this is were I make a wild guess.CC’s code were transfered to Suzaku. Because as you can all recall the final words of Lelouch to Suzaku about the punishment of wearing the mask of Zero and bearing its responsibility for all eternity.
maybe it is also one of the reason why C.C was happy at the end.She finally broke free from the imprisonment of Immortality. Also the reply of Suzaku to Lelouch last words have some underlying meaning to it.I leave it up to you all readers for your own interpretations.

also about the commotion why the driver of the cart were masked.
Come on Guys if you have observed the weather that day the Sun is at it highest point meaning it was a Hot Sunny day. Who in there right minds would want themselves would be happy to bask under that day under the sun except CC of course because she were enjoying every minute of it. The hat and the mask were for UV protection period.
PS. if you have seen clips of farmers working under that kind of weather you would realize what I mean.

I’m still having doubts..and still thinking and reasearching… but as painful as it is to me… I think Lulu is dead. Remember C.C. saying that Code Geass can’t actually isolate people on the last episode? She said that because she saw how Lulu used the geass. That statement of hers was implying that code geass can’t isolate you. So, if Lulu is not dead, that would contradict what C.C. said. because if Lulu is still alive, they just proved that code geass can actually isolate you and in their case, both of them. and the whole point of that last episode is to tell us viewers that code geass can’t isolate you if used in the right way. So, *sniff* eventhough… it pains me a lot… I think Lulu is dead. That’s the way it should be. To make everything sensible. All hail Lelouch! You have lived well! *tears flowing down the cheeks*

i dunno if he’s dead or alive (hope hes alive though) but maybe the creators will have something in store for us in the future. they wanted to leave the anime hanging.. but they said lelouch’s dead. thats very contradicting isnt it? the best thing that we can do is wait for updates and announcements

XD nah just kidding he died for sure… if not I would be very disappointed =/ not because I didn’t like lulu (because he is my role model XD) but because his whole redemption plan would be pointless if he didn’t… he died as a villain while being a hero, epic right? right. so let’s leave it at that =)

He’s alive, because its Sunrise and they can’t ever kill off main characters. Check out Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny which totally prove my point.
Also Gundam 00, okay so Lyle is a twin and way crappier than Neil, but they look identical and he takes the name Lockon so it totally counts!

after suzaku “killed” him, even if they didnt show it, its obvious that there will be people taking his body away or something. and if he wa alive, those people would have seen it!
i believed he was alive, but then there was that question that poped up in my mind…

i finished watching the series the other day, and i came up with what COULD have happened:
CLONE. lulu made a clone of himself after telling suzaku to kill him, and told the clone what to say. then lulu used geass to make the clone believe that he wasnt a clone, that he was the real lulu. SO when the memories went by in clone lulu’s head, it was all real lulu’s memories. then, after lulu told the clone what to do and used geass on it, he went back in time to cc, which is who she talks to when it seems no one’s there AND lulu is INVISIBLE, only visible to cc. and cc cried because she didnt know about the plan, and lulu didnt tell her when he went back in time because it would mess up the time stream. SO THERE.
