Well, yeah I’m not dead yet, and with the pleasant surprise of Nagato-sama’s sudden reappearance, I thought I should post something. It’s Easter here on my side, and I’m glad that there’s meat again in my life. Hooray meat!
On the first Sunday this April I went to an anime convention entitled Ozine Fest ‘09. Sunday was the third day of the three-day convention, and it was the only day I’d be very available so I jumped right in. I managed to arrive at around 11am in desperation to join the on-the-spot drawing competition, BUT–
First Dilemma
[No More Slots for Individual Competitions]
Rakuen: *Rage*
Attendant: What’s the matter sir?
Rakuen: <bites attendant’s arm>
Attendant: Kyahhh!!!
So that’s the end of the first dilemma. On to the second dilemma.
Second Dilemma
My pals (including Arachnicus) and I have been planning on going to this convention since November last year, then a text message 3 days before the convention.
["I'm sorry I can't come, our classmates in high school invited me for swimming."]
Rakuen: F*cksalt.
I knew such a thing would happen so I asked a few classmates in the college I’m currently studying in, but then at the last minute–
[I'm sorry I can't come. Family stuff.]
Rakuen: Good for you. Have fun. Now get out of my sight.
<Disappointment>
So in the end I went to the con alone, and I don’y know how to get to the venue, so I had to bribe my genius onii-chan to get directions.
<Scammed>
I had to thank for the directions though. If weren’t for those I wouldn’t have gotten back home. I’m the type of person who’s really not good with directions and maps. But I still got there, I’m thankful.
First order of business: Look at the lovely figures and contemplate
Equipped with his extremely CHEAP camera, Rakuen intervenes.
It’s hard to take pics of the figures though, because of the glass case.
<Got tired standing around>
Second order of business: Go over to the concert hall
The concert hall is where pretty much every major event took place, especially the cosplaying, and the karaoke competition. And then a girl took every one’s attention–
<Cute loli sang Motteke Sailor Fuku>
And everyone went wild. I mean she sang it pretty decently despite the song being so hard to be fathomed. She kinda looked like little Aya Hirano, and even sounded like little Aya Hirano.
Rakuen: HHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
Third order of business: Find something good to take home
I happened to have took home a female cosplayer or two. I went over to the market area to get some DVD’s and hopefully find something I’d like.
[Cowboy Bebop (Complete Series) + Cowboy Bebop Movie obtained]
[Awesome Pin obtained]
[1/144 scale Zaku obtained for free]
Rakuen: Mission Success. Now to enjoy some more.
Intermission: Contact with a maiden
Rakuen: Cool! Suigintou! Can I touch her?
Guy: (scared tone) She’ll kill you…
Suigintou: Shut up you brat.
Rakuen: Ok, I’ll leave now.
Final order of business: Enjoy the other booths
I was able to try some new game. It’s name it EXTEEL. It’s a 2nd person shooting game using gundam-like machines you can be able to customize.
<and so Rakuen’s turn to try the game>
Rakuen: I am GUNDAM!!! <pawns somebody>
One more final: Get home
Rakuen: Kimochi warui…
.
Finality
I was kinda disappointed with going to a con alone for the first time. Well there’s gotta be a first for everything. The con was pretty decent. No complaints on my side, except I wasn’t able to join any competition. But I was able to try a virtual tablet of some sort, and I swear a lot of people were swarming behind me taking pictures.

Why do I always forget to go there? I always miss otaku events. ;_____;

Wait what, no cosplay pictures?
April 14th, 2009 at 12:21 am
@Shin: I can explain that. The reason why I didn’t take pictures of cosplayers was because I wasn’t able to bring a decent camera. I brought the el cheapo camera instead. I can’t take pictures of those good-looking girls with a cheap camera.
